Experts deserve a state-of-the-art machine park. In their plate processing department, Real Corporation has been using a MicroStep plasma cutting machine from Wouters Cutting & Welding for years.

A plasma cutting machine that also cuts with oxy-fuel

Recently, this machine was joined by heavier artillery. Real Corporation opted for an additional MicroStep MasterCut plasma cutting machine, further equipped with two oxy-fuel torches, especially for cutting thicker plates.

“Besides plasma cutting up to 40 mm thickness, this new machine – thanks to two oxy-fuel torches – can also handle thicknesses up to 200 mm,” Van Puyvelde explains.

The MicroStep MasterCut by Real Corporation in short:

working surface of 6000 mm x 2500 mm;
straight plasma cutting head and two oxy-fuel cutting heads;
modular machine frame, resulting in a wide range of possible dimensions;
iMSNC 500 control, directly connected to the company network;
a 17” TFT color monitor with touchscreen for smooth operation.

In addition, the machine has an 800 mm wide channel.

“Thanks to that extra space, we can also cut profiles with the new machine. For this, a special profile zone is provided on the bed for the plates, allowing for a quick switch,” he adds.

“Our first MicroStep machine was a supplement to an existing machine. With this newer plasma cutting machine, we quickly saw the advantages and robustness of a MicroStep. The older, existing machine was significantly more prone to wear. That’s exactly why we chose to replace it with an additional MicroStep plasma cutting machine with more capabilities. We are convinced that this is a reliable machine for the future,” Van Puyvelde indicates.
